OPTOMETRY

Exams, contacts, and eyewear pickups, handled.

Optometry calls involve two separate kinds of coverage. Aidion determines whether a visit is a routine vision exam or a medical eye visit and applies the matching plan type, then books annual exams and contact lens fittings. It processes contact lens reorder requests, lets patients know when their glasses are ready for pickup, schedules children's eye exams before the school year, and offers retinal imaging when your practice provides it.

THE CHALLENGE

Two kinds of coverage on every call.

An optometry front desk has to sort routine vision exams from medical eye visits, process contact lens reorders, chase eyewear pickups and handle the back-to-school rush — all on the same phone line.

BUILT FOR OPTOMETRY

The right plan, the right order, the right pickup.

Vision vs. medical sorting, contact lens reorders, eyewear pickups and imaging add-ons — handled on the phone.

01 · VISION VS. MEDICAL

The matching plan type, every time.

Aidion asks why the patient is coming in and determines whether the visit is a routine vision exam or a medical eye visit, such as an eye infection or diabetic eye exam.

It applies the matching plan type when booking.

02 · CONTACT LENSES

Reorders checked against the prescription.

Aidion takes reorder requests, confirms the brand, prescription and quantity, and checks that the prescription is still current. Orders are routed to your optical staff, and patients with expired prescriptions are booked for an exam on the same call.

03 · EYEWEAR PICKUP

Glasses ready? Patients know right away.

Aidion contacts patients by voice or text when their glasses arrive and offers a fitting or adjustment appointment if your practice provides one.

04 · RETINAL IMAGING

Imaging offered and booked with the exam.

When your practice offers retinal imaging, Aidion explains the service, mentions any out-of-pocket cost your practice charges, and adds it to the exam appointment when the patient agrees — booked into the right equipment slot.

BACK TO SCHOOL

Children's exams spread across the summer.

Aidion contacts families before the school year starts, reminds them that children's eye exams are due, and books appointments during the outreach call — preventing a last-minute rush in late August.

EYE EMERGENCIES

Injuries and chemical exposure aren't routine calls.

Calls about eye injuries, chemical exposure or sudden vision loss follow your workflow guidelines: callers are directed to 911 or live agents, or scheduled for an urgent visit. Aidion records what the patient reported.

EHR INTEGRATION

Works inside leading EHRs.

Appointments are booked into your live schedule, and every call outcome — claim details, imaging notes, refill requests — is written back to the chart, so your team never re-keys a message.

BEYOND THE ANSWERING SERVICE

A message isn't a booked visit.

Messages turn into callbacks, phone tag, and lost patients. Aidion resolves the request while the patient is still on the line.

GETTING STARTED

Live in days, built around how your practice already works.

Aidion is configured to your scheduling rules — not the other way around.
